Celebrating Rio2 being released on to dvd and blu ray 

Hey everyone, Rio 2 was released yesterday 4th august 2014 on dvd and blu ray I have my copy do you have yours?
I was invited to london zoo by fox and mumsnet, to celebrate the release of rio 2 on dvd and blu ray so i took along my daughter and hubby, It was an early start for me i had to wake up at 5.30 am to ensure i could get everything ready to get to the zoo by 9.30am on arrival we was greeted by our host Holly and was told to head to the function room for the rio2 event.
I was so excited i paced up them stairs and chloe ran too.
my hubby was trying to keep up with us both.

FUNCTION ROOM

As we walked through the door it was amazing there was photographers who took photos of everybody at the event, and took photos of the children with the rio birds which we got print outs of the photos.
also some lovely sweet delicious treats laid on the table fresh fruit, croissants, palm tree and bird shape cookies, krispy kreme donuts,Tea,coffee, and fresh juice. it was definitely the sweetest breakfast i have ever had in my whole life

There was some wonderful people who were painting peoples faces,they are very talented the best facepainting i have seen.

chloe had her face painted as jewel from rio which looks fantastic the detail is amazing and chloe was proud to have such a wonderful facepaint on her face.

After chloe had her facepaint we headed to the chairs To settle down to watch The barbatuques so we grabbed another drink and some nibbles to get ready to see the barbatuques perform and to watch rio 2.

THE BARBATUQUES

The Barbatuques gave us a little performance.
Barbatuques are a brazilian body percussion group featured in the film and on the films soundtrack.
There performance was amazing and everyone seemed to enjoy it they don't use instruments.
They make the sounds with their body ie lips hands etc which i think is very talented.
They showed us how to make music with our mouths n hands too we all enjoyed this part.
Both adults and children got involved with the percussion group towards the end of their performance very interactive.
we was highly entertaining and fun, which warmed us up ready to watch rio 2.



Rio2 sneak peek at the storyline


They first fell in love in the first rio whilst escaping the bird snatchers,Blu and jewel are now married and have 3 little birds of their own.(carla,bia,tiago)
blu's former owner linda and her husband are on an expedition in the amazon and discover a spix macaw
which loses one of his feathers. word then gets out about this on the television and jewel decides they should go to the amazon to help find the blue macaws, but blue is uncertain about going to the amazon but is soon pressured into going along and the kids really can't wait to go they are excited.
Blu brings along  some very useful supplies one very useful one is the gps.
They head to the amazon where they bump into jewels father, (blu's father in law) ...

What we thought of RIO2

Rio 2 is fun for all ages some people may think these sort of films are only for kids but let me stop you there I am 23 and my hubby is in his 30's and we both loved the film some parts of the film even made us laugh.
We liked the bit where blu always used the gps as it reminds us of how we live today looking at the gps to reach destinations (we used hubbys gps on his phone to get to london zoo) so definitely a film that adds those little bits you can relate too in some way or another.





chloe really enjoyed the film and is fascinated by the birds i really do think these kind of films are great to get kids interested in wildlife.
Both the Hubby and i see the bigger picture to as why the film was made it highlights the current situation in the amazon jungle, with illegal deforestation and the dangers the animals face include illegal bird smuggling,
bird snatching. These things can really affect our wildlife and us has human beings.

If you have seen the first one you're definitely love rio2, if you haven't seen the first one be sure to see it as well as rio2 because the storyline is great and the films are very enjoyable to watch.






After the we watched the film we headed outside to the zoo and spent the rest of the day there We had lots of fun and by time we got home chloe was very tired, and mine and hubby's feet hurt.
But all in all it was a brilliant day and we loved watching Rio2.
