My First Smear Test

Yes Today I am talking about my first smear test

you may ask why and my answer is simple because I care about fellow humans.

I was so scared about having my first smear so am not surprised many woman don't go or put them off but really do wanna share with you my experience and to help inspire others to go book theirs, because it is more important then you may think those few seconds of having a test done can save your life, prevent cancer by catching bad cells early.

Information

As some of you know Jade goody died of cervical cancer back in  march 2009,

A muched loved woman,wife, and mum, jade first discovered she had cancer in february meaning she died a month later.

(Taken from wikipedia) As a result of the publicity surrounding Goody's illness, on 13 March 2009 government health ministers agreed to review the National Health Service policy not to screen for cervical cancer until age 25.

A cervical smear test is a test of a sample of cells taken from a woman's cervix.

It is not a test for cancer. It is used to detect abnormal cells that left untreated could develop into cervical cancer. It is the best tool to detect precancerous conditions and hidden, small tumours that may lead to cervical cancer. If detected early, cervical cancer can be cured.

The NHS has cervical screening programmes in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland to ensure women are invited for regular smear tests.

Some of the age ranges and screening intervals are being adjusted, and across the UK, the first test will be at 25, then every three years until the age of 49. Between the ages of 50 to 64 the tests are every five years.

Stats and Facts

1 in 5 women don't attend their smears, 1 in 4 (under 30's)

1 in 20 smears come back abnormal but Most abnormality clear up by themselves.

Some require simple removal. Very rare they end up as cancer x

Many women are putting off having smear tests, which is shocking because many people die of cancer each year this month already we have lost some great talent who have died from cancer, yes we all hate the c word but the c word is very very real.

Anyway Below is my experience of a smear.

MY FIRST SMEAR TEST

So anyway I turned 25 in december and as most of you may know smear tests can only normally be done from the age of 25, well This month I had a phone call saying I needed a smear so obviously I booked as lady on phone was saying I was Overdue and it is important.

So anyway I booked the appointment along with another for a bump I have on my chin.

Anyway after I got of the phone I googled smear tests and started to feel scared upset worried, a mixture of feelings any young woman may experience when googling smear tests.

Well with this I Set up a facebook group called Smears Not Tears, for woman to talk about smears and other women's problems and just to come and chat and support each other,

anyway So added all my female friends and then began to ask and get some girls to advise me what it will be like etc.

Many of the responses from the girls were pretty much the same, to the effect that it doesn't hurt it just feels weird, others say they feel a slight discomfort others say they feel nothing.

Anyway I went to the docs spoke about the lump on my face got some antibiotics as its inflamed, and booked a blood test for my bad knees, then sat back out in waiting room, the nurse then called me in for my smear, so i told her how scared I was and it was my first one.

so she said she use the small plastic thing which is called a speculum which by the way does not hurt at all, it just feels warm from where they warmed it up.

After the speculum was put in the nurse then took a quick swap of my cervix,

the whole test only lasted 5 seconds if that and I felt amazing after knowing Its now done,

Now I have to wait 2 weeks for the results, which is the most nerve wracking I guess.

Well now I have had my smear and If you're a woman who hasn't been yet  you're probably thinking what does it feel like well it didn't feel like anything, other than warm then a little swap that was it. many people will say it feels uncomfy ie having to get your bottom half out, but trust me on this doctors have seen it all hairy or smooth.

so don't worry about getting your bits out the doctors and nurses know what they are doing, in fact they are probably pretty used to looking at vaginas just like their used to looking at noses and legs.

some people say they feel a little bit of discomfort when they take a swap it all depends, my advice is to relax hold on to the sides of the chair, tell your nurse before hand you're scared and you like her to be gentle, and if you're really worried nervous or scared take a friend.

But trust me on this Don't Be Afraid  you will be fine, the test only lasts a few seconds meaning plenty of time to go shopping after or to the movies, although some ppl rather go home watch films and relax.

you may want to take a pad with you after some people find they spot or bleed afterwards,

although I didn't experience any bleeding with mine everyone is different.

Anyway Now I have about a 2 week wait to see if My cells are Ok, 

or if they need keeping an eye on etc.

MY Thoughts

Well it doesn't smell like your normal shampoo but even though I love my nice scented things the scent wasn't too bad in fact it was really nice smelling,

the thing that was little weird was the texture of the shampoo which was a bit like petroleum jelly but  I was more into testing how nice my hair felt during washing it and after washing it,

the scent was really nice although It is hard to describe what it smelt like

washing my hair felt like normal only a bit more luxury maybe because the scent was dif to my usual high street shampoos like lee stafford, vo5 etc, this shampoo may smell different to what you are used too but it is nice to try new things.

my hair after felt so nice and smoothe was really impressed from the first use although I have a long way to go until I use all the shampoo as it lathers up quite nicely which is a bonus because I have lots of hair lots and lots of thick frizzy hair..

Again same sort of scent reminded me being in a salon that's really pricey

the texture was really smooth like normal conditioner but more better if makes sense it felt as good as it smelt so I was freaking out about using too much as I wanna make it last.

my hair felt nice after use I did use more conditioner than shampoo though because of my hair's length and thickness, again my hair felt nice and soft afterwards although again I have a long way to go until i see the real results due to my hair been thick and frizzy.

so you are walking around hoping someone notices your hair smells or looks better.

must admit I didn't blow dry my hair after even tho the leave in treatment can be used for blow drying because my hair is bleaches etc i am staying away from blowdrying at the moment has  have since my last post I have bleached my hair.

Overall Verdict

First of all the scent Is one of my fave parts about the shampoo etc because it felt like I just walked out of a top london salon and onto a catwalk my hair as never really smelt this great n a very long time, the products don't smell like any others i have come across on the market.

My hair felt smooth afterwards which is nice because my hair is so thick and and rough feeling normally. although my hair isn't 100% soft yet as I have a long way to go before it looks like salon sleek hair, im impressed with how well the shampoo conditioner hair mask etc has worked so far, I can't wait to carry on using it and hope it improves my hair much more then it has already Because not many products have good impact on my hair.

Mix and match is what I like I don’t really stick to a certain style other than wearing what makes me happy may it be a long knit jumper or a sexy playsuit, or a glittery short clubbing dress I have always been a firm believer of  wear what you want to wear, not what others are wearing, I know many ppl who buy kayne west trainers or a kimk dress just because the celeb wears it, even though they don't like the style they wear it because of the name.

MAKS Blow Dry Straightener Brush

Hello Boys, girls, friends I am back yay 2016 is here I do hope your all ok?

those of you who do celebrate hope you had a wonderful christmas,

and a fabulous new year, did you make any resolutions?

I didnt mine was more so planning and writing down all the things I am looking forward to in 2016 plans with friends, family, and looking for products to try for you all.

On that note just before christmas I was sent a straightener brush,

to try for you all Excited Much with my big frizzy 100 layers of hair on my head.

This was perfect for me to try to see just how well it worked.

Anyway new year is here and it is time for the bit where I ramble on about the product.

rrp £34.95 which let’s face it it is not too expensive compared to big brand name appliances, and it works just as well, although to some people it may be a lot of money which if thats the case maybe look at putting a few pennies away each week if you still would like one of these to do your hair with.

Easy to use perfect for reaching those hard to reach areas such as the back, i am one of those girls whose hair looks reasonably nice apart from the back yep i can't see the back of my hair with the brush it is far easy to reach meaning the back looks as good as the front.

Price is reasonable £34.95 which isn't too hefty meaning more money to spend on your family, or more hair and beauty products to make your hair even more lush than it already is.

Con

Not so much a con but if you have 100 layers of thick frizzy hair like myself it does work but to a certain extent not the companies or products fault, but my genes and the way i always bleach my hair even ghds in the  graham and webb salon as in this picture 

didn't even straighten my hair well so I would say if you have extremely frizzy thick hair your might see results like mine depending on how thick it is, the thinner your hair the better the brush should work although you can use the brush first as mentioned then your straighteners or vice versa as the brush is good for smoothing hairs and adding shine too.

Overall Verdict

I really love how easy the brush is to use as easy as brushing your hair with us all having many years experience combing and brushing our hair it makes it easy to use, easily reaching hard to reach areas such as the roots or at the back of our hair, the bush not only saves time it helps with less burns because you're just brushing your hair rather than trying to hold straighteners as well as your hair at the back where you can't see.  

Love the fact it is not a bad price to buy this, unlike some products your find on the market.

this product is not only cheap enough to buy its every hair lovers dream to have a brush that straightens hair as you're brushing your beautiful locks.

The only thing that i didn't like is because my hair is so thick and frizzy it didn't straighten my hair as well as it would of if someone else used it as my hair is too thick every hairdresser i see says they have never seen anyone with as many layers as I hair and hair as thick as mine is but as mentioned not the products fault as not many things work on my hair.

saying that I do love the brush and will continue to use it as it cuts down my time straightening it with straighteners because the brush helps me reach the back where i struggle to reach and will help straighten the worst of my hair making it easier for the straightners to work.
