Nanny Violet's Jam Review

For The Love Of Jam !!

Hey girls and guys, welcome back today I am going to be reviewing some jam.

Yes jam but not any old jam nanny violet's jam.

I already love jam mainly mixed berry or strawberry,

but who doesn't love strawberry.

Please note these was sent to me in return of a honest review.

All views as usual are my own.

The Packaging

Oh my gosh I adore the packaging it is so cute.

The box is so my style it scream beauty retro girly.

The jars so pretty and cute placed elegantly inside the box.

The cloth on the jars and the labels added that extra special touch.

The Flavours

Strawberry

well from the moment I opened the lid the amazing smell of fresh strawberry hit me.

The smell so delightful and sweet that screamed try me i am sweet.

I made some toast grabbed a knife and some jam and spread it onto the toast.

I must say the jam wasn't lumpy like most jams but was slightly more runny but i liked this as it spreaded nice and evenly on the toast and tasted amazing.

me shane and chloe all loved this flavour afterall who doesn't love strawberries.

Raspberry

Well this one didn't have that intense smell when i opened it which made me think is this gonna be plain or was it gonna have a weird twist after all smells always speak a thousand words.

Anyway we spread some on toast me and shane and chloe all loved this flavour is was sweet but not too sweet if that makes sense.

Fig

Well yuck yuck yuck I am one fussy person this wasn't for me unfortunately to me this wasn't sweet but a taste i can't describe, But to my surprise shane loved this flavour and even tried it with cheese spread on toast and said the two flavours really went well together.

chloe on the other hand would not even try it.

Blueberry

Well I am a lover of berries but this is weird I don't like eating blueberries on their own.

But I do love blueberry adult alcoholic drinks such as  those alcopops.

So here I am looking at the jar like blueberries we meet again I spread some on my toast closed my eyes and took a nice size bite my eyes opened slowly and lit up like a christmas tree,

I look at shane and say that is really really nice he walks over takes a bite and says he likes it as well, chloe tried tiny bit of this one and said she liked it a little bit.

Blood Plum

Not sure if it is just me but i also don't like plums, but as a jam it worked for me the flavour was nice sweet but subtle but not as tasty as the strawberrie.

Shane my hubby liked it on the toast but he likes plums anyway, and again chloe wouldn't even try this flavour overall this flavour was nice much better than the fig thats for sure.

Overall Verdict

Overall I am impressed with nanny violets the jams they make are really great.

I loved how they wasn't to thick like most jams with them been a lot thinner it meant you could get a nice coverage on your toast which is how I like mine.

However for me the fig somehow felt like it shouldn't of been in this set, as it was the only flavour that was kind of the odd one out flavour wise.

Saying that shane really liked this flavour so i guess it depends on your taste buds and what you like as a person after all we are all different

The packaging for me was the best part the pretty box is amazing I think I will be keeping the box to store some of my beauty goodies inside or even odds and sods like sewing reals.

Chloe's Party Mixed Feelings

Chloe’s birthday party

Hey girls and guys, As some of you know I won a competition called second chance.

The competition ran by oceans finance, for second chance of something.

I chose a party for chloe as she has never had one before.

because I won ocean finance paid for it.

So Chloe turned 6 and this was her first ever party she was so excited bless her.

she loved the fact she was going to have her first very own cake and bouncy castle

Quick Personal Post

Hey guys and girls so my little girl turned six years old.

feels crazy how time as flown by

It doesn't feel like it was 6 whole years ago,

when I gave birth to my beautiful chloe.

Anyway We took her to her first ever cinema trip, we went to see cinderella.

cinderella was a really good film though chloe was abit tired in cinema,

she was overwhelmed by it all as it was her first time there.

As some of you may know we are having her first ever birthday party next week.

the party is courtesy of ocean finance with the competition i won. 

They sent me the money to pay for the bits needed for it.

So sorry havent been on much party planning is stressful,

making my own sweet cones, hubby baking a cake and doing all the food.

So apologies again if I am not around much, 

But I will be blogging about her party and who got involved.

Chloe is really excited to be having her first ever birthday party.

so now her birthday is done just the party to finish planning.

Contouring Makeup Brush

My very first contouring makeup brush

hey girls and guys, I have my first contour makeup brush a few years too late but yay i have one.

I want to show you because  lets just face it some of us if not all have things on our face that we aint 100% happy with and obvs surgery is not cheap and is not the best way to deal with it sometimes.

Many celebs such as kim kardashian contour  their face when doing their makeup many people do it unless you know what that person looks like without makeup no one will really know you contoured your face and just think your wearing makeup.

contouring is pretty the in thing in the makeup industry everyone wants to look like kim kardashian or another celeb but in reality I think the media should be posting before and after pictures of celebs as its affecting the way we see ourselves in the mirror each day.

Anyway it is good to talk about what we are not happy with with our bodys its good to talk be open rather than lie and act like we are all perfect because nobody is perfect not even models or celebs we are all human and should learn to love ourselves a bit more and help each other to love our bodies etc.

So What I Am Not Happy With?

I am not 100% happy with my nose so obvs a nose job would not be ideal 1 because of the costs involved and 2 because surgery can make things worse complications, or ending up with a nose much worse.

Anyway as some of you beauty addicts know there is contouring where you use makeup to highlight areas of face to attract the eye to them and darken areas to hide them using shadows. contouring is like photoshop in a way but easy to do although i'm still new to contouring as I am still learning i have included some pictures of the brush I used and pictures of my makeup.

Introducing My Contour Brush

The contouring brush I used which can be brought from amazon its where I brought mine.

I really love the brush it feels so soft and gentle and looks pretty hot for a makeup brush.

Yep thats right I called a makeup brush hot I am weird like that.

Makeup You Say?

Even though back in school I gained an NVQ in makeup and nails my brain has been rusty for while now they call it baby brain when you have kids anyway in other words I am not as good as doing makeup as I would like to be but anyway practice makes perfect right?

I love changing my look since the blue hair I found my makeup don't take as long 
the blue Hair seems to be very complementing for some reason.

Anyway below is a few photos I took of my makeup bare in mind I am still need to doing contouring and using this wonderful contouring brush and need to get myself a decent contouring makeup kit as I used just foundation and bronzer etc to contour my face which does kinda work but not as good as a proper contour kit.

I am still new to contouring and need to get myself a good contouring set
As for this I used foundation and bronzer and blusher.
Hopefully with more practice and with the right makeup I can get better at doing contour.

Overall Review

Overall I really love the contour brush I just need to get a decent contour makeup kit to go with so I can get better results anyway the brush is lovely and soft and pretty decent it comes in a plastic thing inside the box which is very hygienic also inside my box was a leaflet with a link to a website which gives tips on how to contour etc which will be helpful to a few people who are new to contouring.

Anyway I wont keep you any longer just a quick post to show you my new contour brush.

Know loads of you beauty addicts love a good makeup brush its my first contouring brush so would be good to try others to see if they are just has good or not.

Been loving this sunshine hoping it lasts.

Anyway Today I have a product by aroma works which is amazing

for your skin especially if your skin is dry like mine.

A Bit About the company

Aroma works is a company best known for their aromatherapy products

Skincare range with creams and oils and home range with the candles.

Aroma works was founded by Jane Hibbert, whose love for essential oils 

and purity stems back to her teenage years, when her pocket money was saved

to buy and experiment with the best essential oils.

First impressions

I was impressed with the box but a bit shocked when i opened it wasnt expecting loads of samples as well as a full size product, I decided to only review the full size one purely because i can use it more and get a better idea on what its like to use on my skin.

I will list a few of the samples I received tho so you can get an idea on their other products.

About The Product.

Serenity body oil 100ml key ingredients are lemongrass,neroli,geranium,coconut oil and evening primrose oil which are really good for your skin keeping your skin soft and feeling young.

Not only is the oil really great for your skin the aromas are amazing to help you unwind and destress, as mentioned it reminds me of being in a spa unwinding and relaxing like you see on the movies, you know the one the spa that makes you want to be there face mask on feet up and forget all your troubles whilst you're sipping a nice glass of champagne.

What I Think Of Serenity Body Oil?

I really love the product for a luxurious oil that costs £32.50 to buy.

When using the oil you can feel how pure the oils are and they do feel a lot better compared to other oils on the market the scent is also amazing reminds me of being in a posh spa.

you can use this oil in your own home when doing your daily skincare routine and feel amazing when doing in with the amazing aromas and how delicate the oils are you can get the best.

even though £32.50 maybe a bit steep for some people on a budget it is a money saver when you think how much you would spend in a posh spa for someone to put these oils on your face.

What I liked about the product

I really loved how lovely the oil made my skin after using it.

from the first use I started to feel a big difference in my skin.

The oil doesn't feel cloggy like other oils do and the balance was spot on for me.

The smell of the oil made me feel great and helped me to unwind and relax.

I also love the packaging of the product the little box the oil comes in is a very nice touch.

the ingredients and directions to use the oil was very clearly listed on the box.

What I didn't like about the product.

There is not much i didn't like as it was truly a luxurious product throughout.

Although i do feel other people might think the price is abit steep.

But since trying this myself i can say it is worth every penny for the quality you are receiving.

Where I think aroma works could improve!

Nothing to do with the product, but the aroma works website itself I feel wasn't as great to look through as other sites so for customers trying to buy might find their website an issue to use.

the aroma website on the computer kept taking me to the mobile one.

But when i scrolled to bottom to find desktop site it was a lot better.

I think aroma works needs a sleek website for mobile and desktop.

Because their products are very luxurious I feel a website to match their products is needed.

Overall review

Overall I am suitably impressed with the super fine quality of the oil I tried,

Not only did it leave my skin feeling soft and moisturised it made my skin smell great too.

The aromas really was uplifting made me feel relaxed and calm.

I am not to keen on their current website the mobile site on desktop is not very appealing although the desktop one is a lot better i feel it doesn't really do their amazing products justice.

website aside I cannot fault aroma works I am tempted to buy their candles and other home fragrences as well as I do love a good candle and aromatherapy which is great for your mind the scents are amazing.
