Do you want to feel your best, get active and love your body again.
May it be wanting to lose weight, gain weight, build muscle or just overall improve your health continue reading to find out more.

Our overall fitness and diet plays a big part not only with our general health but our mental health as well. As someone who has and still suffers with mental health and anxiety I can personally tell you my experiences with how working out, staying active and eating well has improved my mental health as well as my general health and you can improve yours too.

Towards the end of 2019 i was suffering with depression due to personal reasons and had to give up my job at Nuffield's health which I loved, but then I met my new boyfriend who is vegan, and we began dating in December 2019 things started to get better, then in January 2020 I decided to go vegan with him which improved my health Massively.

photo of me and my boyfriend jack

I am not as active as I would like to be but since getting more active and eating better I have gained more energy. I no longer suffer with extreme low iron levels, my body looks better, I feel more confident. I don't feel sluggish after eating and no longer get bloating.

Fitness and diet and lifestyle choices really do play a huge part in health, and we have all been there with addictions, binge eating, skipping meals, being a couch potato putting off going to the gym. Going on weird diets, trying out magic weight loss pills which can do more harm than good.

LETS GET DOWN TO BUISSNESS !!

The Truth Body sizes

The Truth about Body Size

Image courtesy of Jeanne claire maarbes
 FreeDigitalPhotos.net

Hi Girls and Guys Im back with Article!
as some of you know I wrote a post called The Truth and Dangers Behind diets.
In That post I spoke to you about dangerous pills causing health problems.
And I gave you tips on how to stay Healthy without having to do fad celeb diets or drinking dieting juice.

The tips I was given by the Expert nutritionists and fitness experts as well
Victoria pendleton olympic athlete Dr christian jessen from embarrassing bodies.

If you have not all already read it please take a look.

Lets continue . . . . .

Anyway you all know I love a good rant with subjects close to my heart.
So Today I am going to talk to you about body shape and sizes,
we live in a world where we are judged for being too skinny or too fat.
And I really hate these labels because it is very judgemental,
These words really hurt The body shaming needs to stop today!

Why can't we love ourselves?

As a slim woman myself who has struggled to put on weight been called skinny sometimes really affects me.
I have friends who are more curvy than me who get called fat by society purely down to media.
The media in this day and age paint a unrealistic picture of celebs models actors etc, showing them with perfect skin, slim or toned bodies and big boobs sick packs and more which 90% of the time is photoshopped.

Unrealistic Images Does not only have a impact on our mental health but it also affects our children as well.
With Kids bullying other kids because they look different to what they are used to seeing.
As adults we all need to wake up and start making an impact showing the world who we are.
More and more people are now wanting plastic surgery to look slimmer or to gain more curves or to get bigger boobs or fuller lips, and with alot of people not having money they are risking their lives with backstreet places most of which are unhygienic and not licenced to be performing such surgery.

Not only are they showing unrealistic images of photoshopped celebs.
They are showing celebs who are advertising plastic surgery,
The average magazine these days is like an argos catalogue for our bodies.

 FreeDigitalPhotos.net
The worst part is they are advising and promoting unhealthy and dangerous diets.
Recently there was a diet pill been shown all over the web which one of my friends was taking,
Well now she is not taking the pill after everyone has warned her after someone died from taking it.

I have told you before and i will tell you again
You can get healthy and fit without the need of dangerous pills!!
Please dont take the risk if in doubt ask your doctor or healthcare provider.

We need to be showing we all may look different but we are all human so what if the girl next door is more curvy than you, or if the man across the street as more muscles than you.
We need to wake up and see its not About looking like a celeb in a magazine who is photoshopped and about embracing what we are born with and loving each other for what we are.

Health should come first so as long as you are not taking dangerous diet pills which are very dangerous and can cause serious health effects as well as death, and as long as you are not eating lard every day.
I would rather be healthy then look like kate moss not only because health is more important but because i dont want a label i dont wanna be someone else I want to be me I love being unique and my own person.

I was doing my research and my voucher codes was kind enough provide some results on a survey they held here are the findings.

Research from an online voucher websites show that the ideal figure most Brits want isn’t the tiny sizes shown in magazines, adverts and on TV but in fact a more realistic and attainable size. In the UK the average body size for a woman is a size 14, however retailers, designers and fashion magazines have always considered this larger or a plus size. But according to the stats, for many people a size 14 is the most desirable body size.
Online voucher website MyVoucherCodes surveyed men and women in the UK to see what they thought the ideal female body was. The results showed both men and women favoured a size 14, the UK national average, over smaller sizes often favoured by designers and retailers. Asking respondents which body type from images featuring sizes from 8 to 16 they thought was their ideal size, the majority of women – 36% – and the majority of men – 42% – chose size 14.
At a time when many people are looking at their health, including their weight, and millions starting diets, MyVoucherCodes asked 500 men and 500 women to choose their ideal body type, the results showed both sexes preferred curvy or plus sized figures, in the UK that is a size 14.
  • When asked, 23% of men also thought a size 10 was the ideal size for a woman however only 16% of women feel the same.
  • Twenty-seven percent of women thought that a size 8 was the ideal size along with 22% of men surveyed.
  • Only 9% of women and 5% of men considered a size 12 to be the ideal size, while just 11% of women and 7% of men opted for size 16.

Speaking about the results Mark Pearson from MyVoucherCodes said:
“The press continuously bombard men and women with images of what they consider to be the ideal female body size, however our survey shows that the majority of men and women actually prefer bigger sizes. At a time when many women are feeling self-conscious, it’s good to see many people have realistic views about body images. “
He added:

“It seems although we are told one thing by the media, people actually trust their own instincts and go with body types which they prefer, not what is forced upon people and paraded by the fashion designers, clothing brands and magazines. “

So that was the findings as a blogger who reviews products which a great readership I feel I need to help get this post out there abit more we need to wake up and love ourselves slim or curvey tall or short. you are beautiful Please dont let the media or anyone else tell you different.

As long as you are happy and healthy that is all that matters i hope you have enjoyed reading this post even though it was abit of a rant but its subject close to my heart i want the body shaming to end and this includes songs in the charts that are body shaming its needs to end.
With a balanced diet and exercise you can stay healthy !
Thanks for reading my beautiful reader.

Smoke free

Hey
guys and girls again as some of you may know I have gave up smoking a few months ago.
This time i have finally done it as last time i failed, so october 2014 i gave up smoking to try be more healthier I am not gonna lie it was hard, but i worked around it.

So you may be thinking why am i posting this?
I am posting this to help n support others going through the same thing.

How did i do it?

well first of all we smoked the rest of the tobacco we had so when it had run out that was the day to go smoke free, after the tobacco had run out we hid all the lighters, matches n ashtrays , we did not throw these away but you may do so. i only kept my lighters because I love candles, and the ash tray will be used outside by guests who smoke.

I was doing fine but because hubby was giving up smoking to he was finding it hard like last time.
So he went to the shop and came back with some ecigs this time liquid ones as some of you know i tried a ecig before, but this time the liquid ones worked better and are better value for money as the liquids last longer.

( to be honest i didn't even use it much i did to begin with but now I only have few puffs on the Ecig  every so many weeks if I am having a bad day)

What else did you do to help you?

well we used to buy tobacco weekly which was costing us around 15 a week, so for each week on the calendar i wrote £15 , then at the bottom of calender added up how much would be saved if i didn't smoke that month, i did this for every month left on the calendar.

This can work well you can keep the money in your normal bank or even put it in a savings account to see how much you have saved not smoking, maybe even use it for next christmas or save for a family holiday.
You could even use the money to help a charity if you are wanting to do something good im sure the extra money will come in handy some how.

what else did you do when you had cravings?

cleaned you know me i love cleaning so went to kitchen and cleaned the work tops even if i cleaned them ten times a day it was a good distraction.
Another thing i did was ate toast i was keeping my hands and mouth busy although with this i put on a few pounds in weight i didn't mind as i needed to gain weight anyway.

if your worried about gaining weight dont worry, just think the money you save from smoking could even pay for a gym membership, or healthy food exercise equipment you get the picture.

Below I am gonna post some other ideas for you things you could do to pass the time if you have cravings or are bored because you are not smoking..

every time you crave cigarettes or are bored

  • knitting
  • go for a walk the fresh air will help
  • baking cakes or bread
  • cleaning and housework
  • use mouthwash to rinse out mouth
  • phone a loved one or friend
  • exercise
  • spend ten mins playing snap or drawing with your children
There are many things you can do to pass the time or satisfy needs you can try these or other things to find what works best for you.

Benefits of giving up smoking?

  • More money- do spend on yourself and family
  • Better health- breathing better
  • Smell better- house and clothes dont smell of stale smoke
  • more time- time to clean or phone loved ones etc
  • whiter teeth- brighter smile
  • better nails- no more nicotine stains

So how do i feel now i have given up smoking?

I feel amazing to start with it was abit crap to be fair but after time i could breath better now i can walk up flights of stairs in my flat without having to stop n struggle to breath.
I feel better in myself i dont feel run down all the time I have energy and more time to do things.

I feel proud of myself and hubby because he found it hard last time and this time and we both finally quit he used his E-cig more then me but now he dont really use it so the liquid ecigs are definitely alot better.

remember if you have a ecig never leave it on charge overnight or whilst you are out, be careful where you plug it in always follow the guidelines and most of all do not attempt to make your own ecig liquid.

There are many E-cigs you can buy all different prices i will post some below from amazon to help you if your looking to buy.

i hope i have helped you in some way please tell your friends to come read if they need support or advice.

happy new year good luck if you are trying to quit.

Octobers DegustaboxUK
Hi everyone I am back again with DegustaBox UK this is Octobers box I received.
I Hope you all had a wonderful Halloween to those that celebrate it.

sorry for the late post there was bit of a mix up which I did not mind because it means I get to eat these lovely treats now the weather has turned gloomy.
As some of you know I have reviewed one of these lovely boxes before which contained a variety of items.

insted of chicken you can use Quorn pieces witch are like chicken ad can season them too add flavour as Quorn can be bland on its own.

Maybe your abit more creative than what I am and have a better recipe?

My Overall Verdict Of This Months DegustaBox UK.

I was very surprised as there was A lot of sweet treats but seeing as it was Octobers box it made sense with it being halloween and all that even though the box wasn't delivered until november, which didn't bother me to much as i was told in advance that there was going to be bit of delay which was nice of company to let me know.

I especially love the cocoa chocolate And cocoa powder because it means hubby has no excuse not to make his famous chocolate cakes he loves baking and can bake really well.
i also love the idea of the meal kit because if you're like me and love a curry the meal kit is perfect for making your own curry which is nice because home made curry means no need for a take away which means money saved.

overall really i loved pretty much everything in my box i do love my food though and anything i dont eat hubby finishes off anyway which is good. I am looking forward to November and Decembers box because we all know what December means Christmas.

Remember guys and girls!

If you would still like to get your hands on you very own degusta box you can

Upbeat protein drink

                      Upbeat (the good whey)

I was in tescos recently and found these protein drinks on special offer for £1 which is good seeing as they are normally about £1.79 per 250ml so brought 2 of the strawberry n two of the mango.

now i have the drinks i can review for you all i hope you like the review please let me know if you have tried upbeat before or if your gonna buy always love your feedback hearing your views.
anyway enough of me rambling here's my review.

Upbeat strawberry flavour

great in flavour taste abit like strawberry yogurt it has a much better taste then most other protein drinks on the market.it has high protein and low fat. a delicious healthy drink which works best with a balanced diet.it has a good source of calcium aswell and we all know calcium helps keep your bones strong.

I really like the flavour not to bland and not to sweet its just right i would recommend this drink too those who have a balanced diet and for those who aint getting enough protein
< also they are suitable for vegetarians > < 145 calories per 250ml bottle >
i will definitely be buying more of these they are tasty healthy and very handy to grab and enjoy.

                                   Upbeat mango & passion flavour

i wasnt to keen on this flavour as it seems a bit to bitter for me but it does have more flavour and is much more tastier then other protein drinks on the market then the strawberry one.
but the strawberry one was more to my liking as it tasted better in my opinion.

149 calories per bottle for mango n passion flavour. as stated above its a healthy drink with a great source of calcium low in fat and high in protein.
